Random Lasing and Reversible Photodegradation in Disperse Orange 11 Dye-Doped PMMA with Dispersed ZrO2 Nanoparticles
We report the observation of intensity feedback random lasing at 645 nm in Disperse Orange 11 dye-doped PMMA (DO11/PMMA) with dispersed ZrO2 nanoparticles (NPs). The lasing threshold is found to increase with concentration, with the lasing threshold for 0.1 wt% being 75.8 ± 9.4 MW/cm and the lasing threshold for 0.5 wt% being 121.1 ± 2.1 MW/cm, with the linewidth for both concentrations found t...
متن کاملMechanisms of reversible photodegradation in disperse orange 11 dye doped in PMMA polymer.
We use amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) and linear absorption spectroscopy to study the mechanisms of reversible photodegradation of 1-amino-2-methylanthraquinone (disperse orange 11-DO11) in solid poly(methyl methacrylate). Measurements as a function of intensity, concentration, and time suggest that ASE originates in a state (be it a tautomer or a vibronic level) that can form a dimer or ...
متن کاملLasing in one dimensional dye-doped random multilayer.
Lasing action in a fully organic dye doped flexible 1D random multilayer photonic crystal is reported. The emission energy can be modulated by varying layers thicknesses to fit the dye characteristics, thus showing the potential interest of such cheap materials in active devices for optoelectronic applications.
متن کاملTwo-photon fluorescence measurements of reversible photodegradation in a dye-doped polymer.
We report on the dynamics of photodegradation and subsequent recovery of two-photon fluorescence in a dye-doped polymer. The energy dependence suggests that photodegradation is a linear process, while recovery is entropic. Such recovery could be useful to high-intensity devices such as two-photon absorbers, which can be used in many applications.
متن کاملRapid reversible phototuning of lasing frequency in dye-doped cholesteric liquid crystal.
Lasing in induced cholesteric liquid crystal (CLC) containing highly photosensitive azo chiral dopant (ChD) and pyrromethene laser dye was investigated. Due to the absence of excitation energy transfer from the dye molecules to the molecules of ChD in such a system, a low lasing threshold was achieved. When using violet and green light-emitting diodes, reversible frequency tuning was obtained i...
